Energy Champion Is Recognized
Congratulations to former SGS Systems Maintenance Engineer Joe Horvath for winning the Energy Champion award. He is featured on the “You Have the Power” poster that will be posted at KSC and twelve other Centers. Since Joe’s retirement in March 2007, he has been a consultant to the SGS O&M Shops. Way to go, Joe – “You Have the Power!”

Employee Receives Governor’s Award
SGS Supervisor of Job Control Mark Albright and a group of men from Mark’s church dedicated their time and chain saws to helping Floridians in need during the disastrous hurricane season of 2004 and have been dubbed “The Chain Saw Gang.” After the devastating early morning tornados on February 2, 2007 that moved through Lake and Volusia Counties, the Chain Saw Gang was once again there to help those in need. In recognition of his commitment and service to the community, Governor Charlie Crist awarded Mark with the Governor’s Points of Light Award on April 4, 2007 at the governor’s mansion in Tallahassee. The Governor’s Points of Light Award recognizes Florida residents and organizations that demonstrate exemplary volunteer service to their community. The Governor’s Points of Light program and the Florida Disaster Recovery Fund are managed by the non-profit Volunteer Florida Foundation.
