| The Joint Base Operations Support Contract
(J-BOSC) is a 10-year contract that was awarded to Space
Gateway Support (SGS) LLC, a joint venture currently
comprised of Northrop Grumman and Wackenhut Services,
Inc. Northrop Grumman is the managing partner of the
joint venture. SGS employs nearly 3000 employees that
provide unified base operations support services including
information technology, logistics, security, administration,
civil engineering, work control and infrastructure O&M
at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Cape Canaveral Air Force
Station (CCAFS) and Patrick Air Force Base (PAFB). SGS
provides full cost distribution financial management
of the program and manages seven major subcontract Team
members.
Under the JBOSC contract, SGS is required to set aside
at least 34.5% of our contract value to small businesses.
This is a significant goal that we have met or exceeded
since October, 1998. This goal could not have been
achieved without participation from our Major Team
Member subcontractors and our small business community
at large.
We must continue to foster strong partnerships with
our small business community by seeking cost effective
and innovative approaches in securing services and supplies.
We will achieve this through: 1) expanding our vendor
database via internet outreach, 2) advertising subcontracting
opportunities to the maximum extent possible, 3) increasing
our participation in symposiums and workshops, and 4)
partnering with the government Small Business Liaison
Officer (SBLO) to identify and use additional providers
of services and supplies.
If your company is interested in providing quality
and competitive services or supplies/materials to SGS,
please contact our Small Business Liaison Officer at
321-476-3669 or Fax 321-853-5528.
